About
About ABC
We are a team of qualified, accredited and ethical pet behaviourists working on vet referral in the UK, who have come together to form a cooperative to better serve the animals you care for.
Qualified & Experienced
Our professionals have years of experience providing behaviour support for pet caregivers. We are either registered Certificated Clinical Animal Behaviourists (CCABs) or are ABTC-registered and have gained the required academic qualifications, while we work towards independent CCAB accreditation.
Ethical & supportive
We offer a non-judgemental, supportive, realistic and tailored approach. We work on veterinary referral only, and advocate for reward and evidence-based techniques.
Working together
We are animal behaviour experts who have joined forces to form a cooperative in order to better serve the animals you care for. We also work collaboratively with our clients to develop a plan that suits them, their animals and lifestyle.
Our Mission & Vision
As companion animal behaviour professionals, we often work in this industry alone. This means we have limited opportunities to collaborate with each other, and to provide each other with frequent support. At the Animal Behaviour Cooperative (ABC), we have changed this, by joining as a team of experts, to better serve the animals and caregivers we support. We are not a trade organisation or assessment body – we are a mutually trading consortium, run and owned equally by our members, who are small, independent clinical animal behaviour practices.
On veterinary referral, our team of experts at ABC help companion animals and their caregivers better understand each other, using reward and evidence-based techniques. We provide expert advice and support with behaviour problems such as:
- aggression
- phobias
- overexcitability
- compulsive disorders
- age-related conditions
- inappropriate elimination
- destruction
- excessive vocalisations.
Many of our experts also provide support with training, such as:
- recall
- general obedience
- tricks
- target training
- cooperative care
- socialisation foundations
…and much more. We counsel for a range of species, including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and parrots around the UK, primarily through home visits, video calls and behaviour clinics.
Each individual and their family is provided with tailored support specific to their issues and circumstances. We are here to listen and work with you to find a kind, realistic solution. Having attained exceptional academic qualifications and extensive practical experience, our experts are fully insured and committed to the highest ethical standards set by the profession.

Cooperative Committee
Our managing team
Our cooperative of behaviourists is run by a core team of volunteers, elected annually by our members. We all contribute though, collaborate on cases and share resources for the greater good of the animals we serve.
